Practice Nurse Development Programme is a partially funded Programme by Health Education England. The aim of the programme is increase the numbers of practice Nurses across London by training registered nurses whether newly qualified or with more experience and looking to move into the primary care setting.

For practices looking to recruit Practice Nurses, this is a cost effective solution to consider taking on someone new to practice nursing and receiving a contribution towards their salary while they are training.

The Practice Nurse Development Programme, is moving from a one year model to two years, Trainee Practice Nurses will be required to stay with their practices for two years. This will enable them to be imbedded in their team and increase retention of Practice Nurses after successfully finishing their training.
